Charitable status

In 2018, High Kingsdown Community Association became a registered CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) No1179906, working for and on behalf of people in High Kingsdown and the wider community, encouraging community cohesion and engagement, and caring for the environment.  Its specific objectives are:

 (a) providing, maintaining, and running facilities which will benefit children in the wider area by enabling them to engage in healthy play in a variety of ways, reducing social exclusion; 

(b) providing, maintaining, and running facilities which will encourage the participation in recreational and other leisure-time occupations of the elderly in the wider area around High Kingsdown;

(c) by providing, maintaining, and running facilities which will encourage the participation in recreational gardening and the accumulation of knowledge about wildlife and nature by young people, students and others from around High Kingsdown.

All such facilities to be provided to the public at large and not to any kind of closed group, without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity or of political, religious or other opinions.
